Critical Creative Reflections

_edited.png)
How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?
-In my product the issue that the teen girl Athena has too much pressure being put onto her academically from her parent's. This is a common trend for pressure to put on teen's especially young girls to be perfect academically to be able to get what they want in life. The stereotype that all girls have to be perfect and out of this world is harmful to how young girls learn and can cause anxiety.
How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?

-Since my targeted audience is those who are teens in Highschool who could relate I would engage my audience by posting about the film on social media. Since most teens use social media, this would be a good tactic in engaging them. This Film would most likely be independently distributed on streaming platforms. Additionally, I would also promote my film on social media to bring in a younger demographic in.

How did your production skills develop throughout this project?
-Two of the main production skills I believe I developed were better time management, as everything had a deadline and had to be done at a certain time. That and the fact that the majority of the production had to be done at home, so I had to hold myself accountable for what I did. Additionally, I also got to be more creative than I have ever been before.
How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware, and online – in this project?
-For hardware, I used my iPhone 14 as my way of filming everything, then for software, I used CapCut to edit everything. Lastly, for online integration, I used Pinterest to get ideas and images, Canva for making ideas for opening credits, Teams to send all the photos and videos I got, and YouTube to look at examples of other projects and as a place to keep my production.
